One of the biggest things I’ve learned so far from working with clients is to make sure you know what exactly it is they want. I thought for my game Fight Virus I knew what they wanted, but instead I had to revamp my whole game to make it more closely related. So now my game is about the player inside of one cell near the nucleus and the virus will be spawning inside trying to form up to create a bigger virus. I still have balancing issues to fix but for now if 5 of them meet in a certain zone they will create a bigger virus and then these viruses will be trying to leave the cell and you must stop them. This was the key aspect I was missing from my previous game that the client wanted. I also made, for now, 5 waves that progressively increase the virus speed, and health. The last wave I wanted to include a boss to give the player a challenge and end goal. I will still talk with them on Tuesday with our weekly meeting to make sure they are okay with this. For this boss I wanted him to attack the player, but with smaller viruses swarming the player dealing damage.
